Gary Cleanwater Celebration & the Trail Creek Fun Float
Thursday, September 10th, 2009I wanted to thank everyone who took part in the Gary Cleanwater Celebration & the Trail Creek Fun Float over the weekend. We
helped teach kayaking to many beginners in Gary & had a fantastic turnout in Michigan City with around 40 canoes and kayaks out on the water taking part. Those who have pictures, please send them to me (nwipa@nwipa.org) & we can post them on the website. I think everyone had a great time & we attracted a lot of new paddlers as well. There should be a story in the South Bend Tribune shortly on it.
Below is some great news on efforts from NIRPC on their efforts to help create water trails and preserve greenspace in NWI. They launched a new website at www.greenwaysblueways.com which has interactive maps, other info, & will have a lot more info in the future on our water trails. I thought that you would be interested in taking a look.
Thanks again
